NORTH Devon is in for some glorious sunshine and temperatures of up to 20C this week.
An area of high pressure across the UK will bring some good areas of sunshine for the South West, said Met Office forecaster Laura Young.
The area of high pressure has seen rumours of an impending heatwave in the south of England resurfacing in the national press, and the forecaster said the South West will see “some of the best weather we have had for a few weeks.”
“I am confident North Devon will see some really good weather right up through to Saturday”, she said.
“It will be some of the best weather we have had for a few weeks, with warm temperatures similar to April when we had some really sunny days.”
The forecaster said we will see sunny days with cloudy intervals from Tuesday onward, with Sunday’s outlook unclear.
The rain showers experienced today will ease off and temperatures could hit 17C.
Some showers may return tonight but tomorrow is looking a fairly clear, sunny day with some cloud around. Tuesday may have a chilly start but temperatures will recover quite quickly and could hit 17C.
Wednesday may start off cloudier, but this should clear and the day could see temperatures of 18C.
Thursday’s temperatures could be between 18C and 19C and Friday to Saturday could be anywhere between 18C and 20C.
The forecaster added: “It is going to be really nice weather, but it is not set to last into the next week, as it looks unsettled.”
