Formerly a Tradesman pub, The Thatched Inn has been the heart of the local community for the past 400 years. We pride ourselves on our quality of food and service. It is our aim to make your function a day or night to remember.
Our menu is changed seasonally and offers anything from a light snack to a traditional 3 course meal, with prices to suit all budgets.
As well as our 3 large dining rooms we also offer a large enclosed beer garden together with a private function room, which can be used for:
• Private functions
We can cater for all your needs from weddings and christenings to private parties and anniversaries. The room can be dressed for specific themes and colour schemes to coordinate a complete look and feel to your day and we can also arrange live music, DJ's and bands.

I totally adore this pub. Fabulous owners, great facilities, lovely beer garden. The food is always top notch - the best pulled pork burger ever and the childrens' menu is great - not the usual sausage chips n beans. Great home made & cooked food and a beautiful old historic building to admire!
Went to The Thatched Inn Abbotsham with friends last Friday eve, all 6 of us enjoyed the evening, not just because of the sparkling company, but because the food and service was as good as ever. A mixture of dishes were ordered including vegetarian, examples were starters: brie and cranberry, pate; main course: veggie Wellington, hunters chicken... all cooked to order and plentiful... as good Devon food should be! Always a pleasure to go The Thatched, just a shame the weather this summer didn't allow folks better use of the excellent beer garden.
We stopped here for a meal, and this is one great pub, not only do they do superb meals, at a great price, but they also stock cask ales, a warming welcome and well maintaned! One to go back too!
I'd heard good things about The Thatched Inn in Abbotsham. A group of us went along and when we arrived we all thought that it was a great looking place, with its thatched roof, and even the smoking shelter was thatched. Inside was lovely, lots of little eating areas. The menu was typical pub grub, but they did have a specials board. The service was good, friendly staff, willing to help you. The portions were enormous and at that point I felt that it was good value for money, as the meals were on the pricey side. However, my ham ,egg and chips was not very tasty. The crinkle chips were ok - there were plenty of them, but the ham, whilst thickly sliced, was tasteless. Perhaps it was just a bad night - I think I'd give them a second chance because the pub itself was lovely.
