GORDON Giltrap has earned respect from many of the legends of the guitar world – names like Jimmy Page and Mark Knopfler have paid tribute to his unique talent. He is a self-taught guitarist with a distinctive sound.

His career has spanned more than four decades and he's collaborated with such diverse names as the London Symphony Orchestra, Martin Taylor and Ric Sanders of Fairport Convention, through to rock stars like Brian May and Rick Wakeman. Stories about them interlace his music and he delights audiences with his quiet self-effacing humour.

"We have been privileged to welcome Gordon here before, and look forward to hearing his performance," said owner of The George Hotel Cathy Doel. "The facts speak for themselves –how many musicians can claim successful, 40-year career?"

Gordon Giltrap is at the George Hotel, South Molton on Friday, February 21, 8.30pm. Tickets: £12 on 01769 572514 or visit www.wegottickets.com.
