FOUR Braunton friends have raised more than £2,000 for Children's Hospice South West by undertaking the notorious Three Peaks Challenge.
Kevin Fry, Chris Horne, Mark Linskill and Steve Page, all former members of North Devon Athletics Club, reached the peaks of the three highest British mountains in just under 24 hours.
Starting at the bottom of Ben Nevis in Scotland at 5pm, they walked up and ran down in four hours 18 minutes.
The were then driven to the Lake District by friends Tilly Daniel and Sabiya Bagum Ali to tackle the second peak, Scafell Pike, at 3am.
The group said that Scafell Pike proved to be the most challenging of the mountains to navigate, especially in the dark, but they managed to complete the route in three hours 45 minutes.
The group then headed for Wales to tackle Snowdon, which they completed in four hours and 22 minutes, making the total time from the bottom of Ben Nevis to the bottom of Snowdon 23 hours and 24 minutes.
