Chambercombe Manor

Jenna Witts at Chambercombe Manor

“Just a small amendment to Tooth Fairy's review. Actually it's just £1 per person to come and see Jenna Witts on 25 June! We are fundraising (as usual) and hope that lots of people will come to see this brilliant artist. The Buttery will be offering its famous cream teas, and also Pimms for that afternoon. Let's hope for fine weather! The Manor is also holding a Ceilidh on Saturday 16 July at the Landmark Pavilion with the fantastic Oggle Band. Tickets are £8 per person, available from the Tourist Information Centre at the Landmark, or from Chambercombe Manor Trust (tel: 01271 862624) All proceeds to the upkeep of our lovely old Manor as usual. Please do support us, the house desperately needs repairs. Lesley Symons, Chambercombe Manor ”

    Chambercombe Manor

I never knew Chambercombe Manor did so much, i thought it was just a spooky tour but they do weddings, tours, great food, festivals, fayres as well as accommodation. On the 25th June, they are hosting a Musical Afternoon, admission is £10 per person. They have singer / songwriter Jenna Witts performing among other artists. I saw Jenna at Hunters Inn beer festival one year and she was amazing.

    Most haunted.

I saw chambercombe manor on an episode of most haunted and was dying to give it a go at halloween as i have been told its really scary but unfortunatley couldn't afford to go at halloween, but i did eventually get to do the walk. I don't want to give it away if you end up going, but the story about the little girl will freak you out when you go up into her room. Ooooooooo!

    Scary!

Even though I''ve lived in Ilfracombe all my life, I had never been to Chambercombe Manor. When my friend came to visit we decided to do the tour as a fun day out. The tour guide was fantastic and the it was so atmospheric and convincing that even though I''m a sceptical person, by the end of the tour I really believed the manor was haunted! The building itself is fascinating and steeped in history, and the gardens are beautiful and a lovely to visit on a sunny day free of charge. Cream teas in the tearooms very yummy! Also went to their Christmas fete and really got into the Christmas spirit and picked up some bargainous unusual gifts. Go there!

Very pretty in the day - spoooooky at night!

It doesnt matter what kind of person you are, this pretty little local manor house has something for everyone. If you are just looking for a light lunch in a suntrap tea garden, or if you are a horticulturalist - they have lovely well kept gardens. For the braver people they offer ghost walks and paranormal experiences. The history of the building is fascinating and well worth a visit!! Ample parking, highly recommended.

    Tranquil setting

Visit the manor house, gardens and tea room. A good place just to pop in and eat inside or out with an excellent menu of good value hot and cold food. Gardens and lake are free but donation box on the gate. House and one hour guided tour is about £7....you wont believe the spooky history it hides! Check local press for special events for families and night vigils for ghost watchers. Plenty of free parking. Picinics not allowed. Google it.
