“First time I took my kids to this place and they absolutely loved it. The house and carriage museum are really interactive. Staff were friendly and helpful, and cooking marshmallows over the campfire was a real bonus. We'll definitley be back to explore more!”
The National Trust's Arlington Court & Carriage Museum - more than just a days visit!
Arlington Court – a Family Estate-turned museum and tourist attraction – gives both locals and tourists a realistic insight into what it was like to live on a grande estate in the Victorian era.
Come along to this remarkable family estate and you'll find fun for all the family.
Dads can spend time exploring the model ships and shells collected over the years by the Chichester family whilst mum and the kids check out the carriages and carriage horses kept in the nearby stables. You'll all want to take a look at the two species of bat residing in the cellar!
Following your exploration of the interior, you'll be encouraged to take a walk around the expansive grounds – where picnics and games are actively encouraged!
Our popular 2 mile lake walk is a must for nature lovers – just be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the surrounding wildlife.
With tummies rumbling after a full day's adventure you'll be welcomed into our restaurant – where the freshest seasonal dishes are cooked up using fruit and veg from the garden when available.
Arlington Court is situated just outside Barnstaple and is open 7 days a week, so make today a day of adventure!
