Witheridge have gone to the top of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League after a 7-0 win at Bovey Tracey last night.
Jack Langford scored a hat-trick as Witheridge’s biggest winning margin for more than four years launched them up four places and above Ivybridge Town on goal difference.
Boxer Langford has now scored six goals in three games, landing knockout blows on Torpoint Athletic, Camelford and Bovey.
He opened the scoring in an action-packed first half last night, tapping in after a save by Tom Brooks.
With Roger Ingham making it 2-0, the wheels came off for Bovey who had four players shown yellow cards and Sam Dicken sent off. Langford struck twice to complete his hat-trick and Luke Cole made it 5-0 by half time.
Jordan Charran scored twice in the second half to take his tally for the season to six but it is Langford who now leads the Witheridge scoring chart with seven.
Witheridge will aim to secure their place at the top of the Premier Division with a home game against Saltash United on Saturday and a trip to Torpoint Athletic on Tuesday.
