Here at the Journal we have been inundated with nominations for our Sunday roast competition.

More than 100 nominations for pubs, cafés and restaurants across North Devon landed on our news desk.

Succulent meat, crunchy vegetables and crispy, golden potatoes were just some of the elements you consider made the perfect Sunday roast.

We launched our competition in January which invited you to nominate your favourite place to visit for a top notch roast.

You weren’t shy in singing the praises of the array of eateries in the area.

Nominations are now closed and we have counted the piles of votes.

The top contenders with the most nominations were visited by a judging panel and the winner will be revealed in our Thursday, March 27 edition.

The winner will be awarded with a certificate and there will be a write up in the paper telling people why their roasts came up trumps.
