FRILLY Frocks in Barnstaple is celebrating its 25th anniversary as a wedding specialist.
Current proprietor Fiona Bartlett, who has been managing the business for the past five years, said it was the busiest time in 25 years for her five-strong team.
She added that it was the special experience Frilly Frocks offered brides that attracted them across the South West, Bristol and London: "Even girls who have moved away come back to us for their wedding dresses. They are extremely loyal."
As well as providing a friendly, personal, one-to-one service with private appointments, Frilly Frocks is the only North Devon member, and one of only three Devon members, of the Retail Bridalwear Association.
The association's stringent entry requirements include five years' trading experience, sound financial management, offering professional standards of care and service with high standards of stock and décor, and trained staff dedicated to the welfare of the bride and groom.
Only members are able to provide the RBA Brides Protection Scheme which ensures brides can buy with confidence.
Frilly Frocks is marking its 25th year by introducing a new range of mother of bride and groom outfits.
"This has come from so many mums asking for us to find something for them, and to have the same special experience we offer to our brides," said Fiona.
She added that the number of early spring weddings was high this year after many couples delayed their weddings through superstition to avoid getting married in 2013.
Frilly Frocks will be hosting a wedding gown sale on January 31 and February 1 and 2.
