BARNSTAPLE Travelodge has been refurbished as part of the company's £223 million brand investment. The new look includes a new room design and a luxury bed called the Travelodge Dreamer.

The 45-room hotel at Roundswell Services on the A39 Barnstaple Bypass was refurbished in just one week without any disturbance to its day-to-day operation. The extensive work was carried out by Travelodge's in-house maintenance team.

Anna Tarrasiuk, Barnstaple Travelodge hotel manager, said: "We are very excited to have benefited from this investment. The work was carried out with no disturbance to our day-to-day operation and the feedback we have received from customers has been outstanding.

"Everyone loves the new, warm, contemporary feel of our new room and there is no doubt the hero of the room is definitely the Travelodge Dreamer bed.

"The demand for good quality branded budget accommodation in the area is growing at a great pace, and now that we have a new room design we are offering even greater value."

The upgraded king size bed, produced by Sleepeezee, features a 952-individual-pocket-sprung mattress as well as two space-saving comfy truckle beds in its base to replace the traditional sofa bed for families staying in the room.

Other enhancements include a sleep-inducing colour palette in a tranquil blue, a larger desk, new carpet, artwork above the bed and a stylish white contemporary en-suite bathroom.
