A Judge has ordered a fresh psychiatric problem on a patient who threatened to kill a housemate at the supported accommodation where they both lived.
Darren O’Regan was arrested after police were called to the hostel where he was being looked after in Chapel Street, Tiverton, last month.
O’Regan, 21, formerly of Torrington, admitted making threats to kill and his case at Exeter Crown Court was adjourned for a further psychiatric report.
He was bailed to live with a family friend in Shady Grove, Alsager, Stoke-on-Trent and banned from entering Tiverton before his next hearing.
Mr Lee Bremridge, defending, said pre-sentence reports recommend an interim hospital order but this can only be made with the approval of two doctors, and at present only one report is available.
He said his current accommodation in Stoke is provided by a family friend who is also an experienced mental health worker.
Recorder Mr Ignatius Hughes, QC, adjourned the case for at least three weeks.
