Torridgeside hit back from 3-0 down to keep their title hopes alive with a 4-3 win at North Molton in the North Devon League premier division today.
Goals in the last ten minutes from brothers Neil and Marc Bettiss completed the fightback, handing North Molton their second defeat of the season.
The home side made a strong start when Carl Motteram converted two penalties and Tom Marsh added the third for a 3-0 lead midway through the first half.
But Jamie Bright started the revival and Marc Bettiss brought Torridgeside back within one goal before half time.
As the visitors pressed forward, Neil Bettiss headed the equaliser and Marc turned in the winner with five minutes left.
The two sides will meet twice more in the next eight days with the Torridge Cup semi-final at Torrington on Thursday and the return league fixture on Sunday.
Today's result keeps Torridgeside on the heels of Bideford and Boca Seniors who maintained their title challenges with key wins.
Bideford ground out a 1-0 result at Ilfracombe Town with a goal from Phil Kelly 20 minutes from time.
And Boca trailed twice to strikes from Jordan Hussell before easing to 9-2 triumph over Chittlehampton.
Giles Daniel and a penalty from Mark Barrow brought them level and the champions pulled away with goals from Jack Jenkins (two), Mark Gilfillan (two), Barrow, Daniel and Scott Sharp.
