Torquay United are set to recall Ashley Yeoman from his loan spell at Bideford.

Caretaker manager Geoff Harrop made bringing back on-loan players his priority following the sacking of Alan Knill yesterday.

Harrop, who is Torquay’s head of youth, has already recalled Damon Lathrope from Hereford United and told the Herald Express he expected to take back Yeoman as well.

“Players who are out on loan should come back to the club as it’s about starting again,” said Harrop. “Damon needs to come back here and Ashley Yeoman as well.

“They are employed by Torquay and we’ve got to give them every chance to impress Torquay. It was my first decision to bring them back here.”

Yeoman has scored five goals for Bideford since joining them in October, including a hat-trick in the 3-2 win over St Neots Town, helping the side to fourth place in the Calor League Premier Division.

He may now be back in the Torquay squad in time for tomorrow’s Sky Bet League Two match against Morecambe.

Knill was sacked following the 2-0 defeat to Plymouth Argyle on New Year’s Day, which left the Gulls second from bottom of the Football League.

Bideford are due to host Hungerford Town at the Sports Ground tomorrow.
