TOMMY LANGFORD maintained his 100 per cent record as a professional with a points victory over Jay Morris in Birmingham.

The former Bideford amateur dominated the contest, winning all six rounds against an experienced opponent.

Fast combinations and movement gave Langford his third consecutive success since turning pro last year.

Ben Owen, of Bideford ABC, was named boxer of the night at a show in Newquay after stepping in at short notice.

Owen was in fine form to beat Darren Townley, from Pilgrims ABC, in a thrilling contest.

After a cagey opening, he floored Townley with a right-hand counter during a dominant second round.

The onslaught continued in the third but Owen suffered a flash knockdown as he was caught rushing in.

Regaining his composure, the Bideford boxer showed superior fitness to seal the points win with a strong finish.

Bideford ABC are hosting a show at the Pollyfield Centre on Saturday, March 16.

Tickets, priced £5, are on sale now. Call Dick Kersey on 07841 846552, Jeff Facey on 07970 671909 or Richard Grigg on 07949 770616.
