Titans remain in contention for the runners-up spot in Netball South West Regional League Two after a 58-52 win at Pinehurst.
With several key players missing and some feeling unwell, they were expecting a hard fixture in Swindon.
But Titans managed to hold on to their lead and come away with a fourth successive win.
After conceding two goals without reply, Titans’ centre-court combination of Clare Aldrich and Rebecca Manley worked tirelessly to start the ball rolling and they clawed their way back into the game.
Louise Lathwell netted 12 out of 13 attempts as they finished the first quarter leading 19-12.
Titans kept their foot on the pedal in the second quarter and, with Lorraine Cleverdon scoring seven out of eight attempts, they had extended their lead to 12 at half time with a 35-23 scoreline. A few errors crept into their game in the third quarter and they lost some composure over several umpiring decisions, allowing Pinehurst to stay on level terms despite Cleverdon’s seven-out-of-seven record.
Going into the last quarter 11 goals down at 47-36, Pinehurst came out all guns blazing.
Katie Jeffery was terrier like in gaining valuable tips to help Titans hold on and win by six.
