ONE of the biggest highlights in Holsworthy’s calendar takes place tomorrow.
Thousands are expected to descend on the showground at Killatree Cross for the annual Holsworthy and Stratton Agricultural Show.
Livestock will be prepped and preened ready for judging. There will be a variety of displays this afternoon in the Haines Watts main ring and Coodes Solicitors entertainment ring.
From falcons to ferrets, gun dog demonstrations and sheep shearing, show organisers have secured a range of events to entertain the crowds.
Alison Heywood, show secretary, said: “We are also very excited to be welcoming donkey cart racing for the first time. A treat at the end of the day in the Haines Watts Main Ring which should not be missed.
“The flower tent will be, I am sure, a sight to behold, and new for this year we are holding free flower workshops. Please book in at the flower tent by 10.30am to guarantee a place.
“We are delighted that the Pony Club will be joining us for their 60th anniversary celebration parade in the main ring at 3pm.”
The Holsworthy Area Children’s centre are providing a baby changing facility.
Alison said food and drink will be available throughout the day.
She said: “Oaktree Occasions are providing a plated breakfast or lunch for our members to purchase.
“There are also wonderful delights to sampled in the food, drink and craft hall as well as the main catering food vans to keep you all fed and watered during the day.
“Be sure to visit many of the trade stands they will be delighted to see you and without them and our sponsors it would be very difficult to hold a show.
“I hope you all have a wonderful day.”
