REBECCA SPEAR was the star in a strong display from North Devon AC at the Southern League meeting in Andover.
The under-20 athlete won the women's hammer competition with a club record and personal best of 29.31m.
She dominated the throwing events, winning the discus with a PB of 33.47 and finishing runner-up in the javelin and shot.
Spear also ran a leg of the 4x400m relay, helping North Devon to second place.
Sam Petty has broken the 1min 50secs barrier for 800m for the first time.
The North Devon AC runner finished third in the A race at the Watford British Milers' Club meeting in 1-49.60.
Improving on the personal best he set in Bedford three years ago, the 21-year-old is 30th in the 2013 UK rankings.
Ian Gooding, of Torrington AAC, set a personal best to win the Indian Queens Half Marathon in 73mins 15secs.
Gooding, 40, has improved by more than 90 seconds this year and is training for the Frankfurt Marathon in October.
