A GROUP of hardened cyclists have completed a mammoth 260-mile cycling challenge in less than 24 hours.
Raising money for the Royal British Legion, the event saw the seven men pedal from Chittlehampton to Land's End and back.
Battling with mixed weather, the fundraisers were forced to cycle through torrential rain, thick fog and scorching sunshine, completing the challenge in just over 23 hours.
More than 50 people cheered on the men as they returned to the Bell Inn in Chittlehampton, the starting and finishing point for the challenge
The seven men who compelted the challenge were John Miller, Matthew Jones, James Page, Josh Wren, Ciaron Lishman, Liam Craze and Ian Berry.
John's wife Kirstie Miller, who alongside Sandra Lishman manned the team's support vehicle, praised the group's commitment to the challenge.
She said: "They were absolutely amazing. They really pedalled together as a team.
"They were quite emotional when they got back and were all really proud of themselves.
"They were all very broken for several days afterwards though.
"Not one of them could grasp a knife and fork."
