THREE Scouts from Chivenor have been given gold awards in Scouting by Chief Scout and former SAS man Bear Grylls.

Phil Gladwyd, Christian Turner and Jim Waton, all 14, were given the awards at County Hall in Exeter.

While working towards the award, Jim walked the length of Hadrian's Wall in eight and a half days. He said: "Some people don't believe me when I say I had fun walking the 84 miles, but it was a great achievement that I'll remember all my life."
