SAUNTON golfer Emma Tayler lost in the semi-finals of the English Women’s Open Mid-Amateur Championship today – to an Olympic medallist.
Tayler, from Barnstaple, was beaten 5 and 4 by Chloe Rogers, who was part of Team GB’s bronze medal-winning hockey team at the London 2012 Games.
Rogers’s putting skills made the difference as the Braintree golfer one-putted on each green from holes 7 to 11.
She will meet Charlotte Thomas, from Singapore, in the final tomorrow.
Tayler was never behind in her quarter-final against Jessica Gregory, from Kent, this morning, winning 2 and 1.
