HUNDREDS of people in Braunton turned out to greet a familiar festive face as Santa Claus made an early tour of the village.
The four-day event saw Santa meet fans both young and old as he rode his sleigh through the village for the third year running.
During the tour, which was organised by Braunton Caen Rotary Club, Santa made stops at RMB Chivenor, Saunton and Ackland parks and Velector. Rotarian John Rendle, who helped to organise the event, said he had been taken aback by the public response.
He said: "It has been fantastic. We were well received by the community everywhere we went, and the turnout from the children was brilliant.
"Moving it forward a little bit made all the difference. "And I have to say we have had a tremendous response from within the club as well. So many people have get involved to help make it a success."
In the past week the event has raised roughly £1,200. All the money raised will be split between the Croyde Surf Life Saving Club, a selection of Braunton youth groups and national Rotary charities.
Santa's final trip will be to Braunton Tesco on Sunday, where he will meet old and young between 2pm and 4pm.
