The worst of the weekend's weather will be out the way by this evening, Met Office forecasters say.
Rain and wind will continue to blight North Devon for the rest of the afternoon but this should start to subside into the late evening.
Temperatures will remain at around 17 or 18C today but this will start to improve come tomorrow.
George Goodfellow, Met Office forecaster, said the winds will become lighter and temperatures will rise, although the chance of the odd shower will remain.
"The weather we are experiencing now is likely to be the worst," he added. "The rain is coming in from the east and it is not going to be great this afternoon.
"It is also fairly windy so the outlook is not great today, although it may subside this evening.
"By the time we get to tomorrow morning it should be a lot better. The wind should be lighter although there is still the chance of the odd shower.
"I would imagine people will have a much nicer day tomorrow."
Temperatures could reach up to 20 or 21C tomorrow.
