LYNTON and Barnstaple Railway Trust has received a national award from the Heritage Railway Association.

The citation honouring the trust says: "In recognition of its taking a major step forward in its mission to recreate a piece of North Devon transport heritage in its original form with the restoration of three original carriages."

This weekend the railway is holding a "Find Out More" weekend at Woody Bay Station on the A39 between Lynton and Blackmoor Gate. It will be an opportunity to learn about the railway and how to volunteer, and will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
