PETROC lecturer Alex Wittram has travelled to Sweden to work with a school in Katrineholm, near Stockholm.
She spent five days at Duveholms, a mainstream school for post-16s, in their supported learning section.
She worked alongside Anja Cameron to plan a communication and art project for their students.
During her time in Sweden, Alex and Anja wrote a bid together to apply for British Council funding through the Comenius Programme, to allow them to conduct student exchanges in the future.
The plan is for both sets of students to work on a project in their home countries, and then bring the artwork together to be displayed in the town centre of Katrineholm. Alex and Anja now have to wait until the spring to know if their bid has been successful but, if all goes to plan, Alex hopes to take a group of students to Katrineholm in May 2014.
