Patients score North Devon Hospital highly for care, treatment and experience

PATIENTS at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple rated the quality of their care, treatment and experience highly, according to a report.

Of the participants surveyed by the Care Quality Commission 33% gave the Northern Devon NHS Healthcare Trust top marks with a score of 10 while 23% scored nine and 24% an eight.

Kevin Marsh, interim director of nursing, said: "Being unwell and coming to hospital can be a daunting and uncomfortable experience for patients and their families.

"But we are heartened by the inpatient survey results which reflect how much the professionalism of our staff can make a hospital stay as positive as possible for those in our care."
