AN amusing infographic comparing Devon to Majorca has been produced as part of a campaign to encourage tourists to visit the South West.
The fun graphic, produced by Stay In Devon, compares all aspects of a holiday abroad to a holiday in Devon and is part of a campaign to encourage holidaymakers to plan a staycation in Devon.
North Devon is repeatedly mentioned in the graphic with Woolacombe beach and Lundy Island both being championed.
Holiday experts suggest over two million holidaymakers will visit Devon by the end of this year.
It is predicted 65 per cent of British adults will holiday in the UK in 2013, compared with only 41 per cent in 2012 and 35 per cent in 2011.
James Morris, managing director of Stay In Devon, said: “The UK is an important tourist destination, and Devon is arguably the cream of the crop.
“We hope that this infographic will encourage more visitors from home and away to enjoy the stunning South West of England”.
The Infographic, created by social media marketing agency TAMBA, was commissioned as part of a wider campaign to boost tourism to the area and to complement the push for Devon to win the Best UK Holiday County or Region award at this year’s British Travel Awards.
