ILFRACOMBE residents are being asked for their opinions to help improve the town's services.

One Ilfracombe's People's Voice group is appealing for locals to give their views on dog mess, jobs, health and any other issues that affect them.

Around 200 people have signed up so far but One Ilfracombe community engagement coordinator Jan Kennedy has said at least 500 people are wanted.

She said: "The views we get are often from a small group of people and not the silent majority."

The group is particularly interested in hearing from people in the currently under-represented 18 to 30 and 31 to 45 year-old age groups.

Mrs Kennedy said: "Current hot topics are whether we should have more control over dog fouling in Ilfracombe rather than it being a Barnstaple service or if we could use the Lantern Centre in far more exciting ways, such as a climbing wall or indoor adventure playground, as well as the traditional community use."

You can join the People's Voice group by e-mailing janet.kennedy@northdevon. gov.uk or calling 01271 388553.
