AN open day held at the Tyrrell Hospital in Ilfrcacombe has ben heralded a success.
Staged in the hospital gardens, the event was run by hospital nurses, staff, volunteers from the hospital shop in Church Street and other members of the League of Friends of Tyrrell Hospital.
The League of Friends and other volunteers have helped fund new equipment and upgrade furnishings and other facilities within the hospital.
In addition to the fundraising stands run by the various volunteers, the nurses ran their own stands giving details of the various clinics that are held at the hospital and the services available, as well as being on hand to offer blood pressure tests to the general public.
There were also displays of some of the equipment that had been purchased by The League of Friends.
The event was opened by town mayor Roy Goodwin and raised £691.10.
