GOLDCOAST Oceanfest has announced three new acts for 2014 in Hudson Taylor, Jack Savoretti and Wille and the Bandits.
Irish brothers Hudson Taylor, who last year supported The Rolling Stones and Jake Budd, will perform on Sunday. The boys are no strangers to festivals, having played Glastonbury, Longitude, Bestival, Camp Bestival and Cambridge Folk Festival in 2013.
The duo are currently recording their first full-length album, and their latest single – Weapons – is set for release on March 16.
Jack Savoretti, an Anglo-Italian singer-songwriter compared to Simon & Garfunkel, will take to the stage on Saturday. In supporting Bruce Springsteen in the UK and Jake Bugg in Europe, 2013 was a busy year for him also, and the Telegraph has described his guitar playing as “primal magic”.
Devon’s own Wille and the Bandits will be bringing their own brand of rocky roots music on Friday. The trio are no strangers to stages either, having played alongside Deep Purple and completing two tours with the mighty Status Quo.
In describing their sound, Blues Matters magazine deduced that “if Cream had spent more time on a beach in Newquay they might have sounded like this”.
The three acts join a line-up already including Clean Bandit, Natty, Cosmo Jarvis, King Charles and Sunset Sons. GoldCoast Oceanfest takes place between Friday, June 20 and Sunday, June 22. For more information visit www.goldcoastoceanfest.co.uk
