A DOLTON teenager will soak up the bright lights of Hollywood to take part in the finals of a bikini competition.
Candice Peachey, 19, was a contestant in the UK Bikini Squad finals in Norwich this summer.
She won the title of Miss September, which means her picture will be printed in a calendar.
Candice will fly to Los Angeles to take part in the world final of the competition later this year. The calendar will be shot in Malibu.
The UK Bikini Squad was organised by model and actress Kerri Parker who owns The Kerri Parker Academy.
The academy is a model training school in Norwich.
Candice said: “The aim of the competition is to find a team of 12 beautiful, hard working, and reliable girls. Not only will they work as a team to represent the UK in international pageants, but will also shoot a variety of calendars.
“They will become the face of the academy, doing red carpet appearances with Kerri.”
The finals were held in Mantra nightclub, Norwich. All girls had to model two bikinis and a formal dress.
Candice said she enjoyed meeting new people at events. She said: “Most people think pageants are bitchy, but it’s far from it. I have made friends for life through beauty pageants.”
Candice is excited to be jetting to America for the competition’s world final.
She said: “It had always been a dream to go. LA was a part I always wanted to visit. To get the chance to go is amazing.”
Lorraine, Candice’s mum, is proud of her daughter’s achievements.
She said: “Candice has the drive. She isn’t sat around playing computer games. She is very focused.”
Candice is appealing for sponsorship for the finals. Email email@example.com if you can help.
