Barnstaple remain fourth in National Three South West after a 24-19 victory over Worcester Wanderers this afternoon.
Despite making hard work of it, Barum always held the edge at Pottington Road, securing their fourth win from five games.
They went 7-0 up when a Winston James try was converted by Will Topps but the visitors replied with a try from a maul.
Topps took a pass from James and went over in the corner before converting from the touchline to make it 14-5. Topps then missed a penalty but was successful with his next attempt as Barnstaple reached half time with a 17-5 advantage.
Although Worcester scored next, Barum gave themselves a cushion when a length-of-the-field move involving Steve Perry, Topps, Matt Down, Rob Elliot and Ryan Brend was finished off by James Bath and converted by Down.
Barum's Mark Berrry was shown a yellow card for dissent and Wanderers came back into the game with a late try.
Bideford triumphed 17-15 at Cullompton for their first win of the season in Tribute South West One.
Ollie Sanders scored their try and Neil Giddy kicked the rest of the points.
In Western Counties West, Bude were beaten 55-5 by Okehampton.
South Molton lost 17-16 against Topsham in Devon One and Ilfracombe lost 34-21 against Buckfastleigh in Devon Two.
