South Molton are the champions of Tribute Devon One.

Mighty Molton secured the title with a 17-5 home win against New Cross this afternoon while second-placed Totnes were losing 29-8 to Old Technicians.

With the league title comes promotion back to the Cornwall/Devon division where Molton last played in 2006-07.

In a physical, bad-tempered game against relegation-threatened New Cross, Molton emerged victorious thanks to tries by Matt Smart and Courtney Lucas, plus two conversions and a penalty from Dom Stoneman.

It was their seventh successive win in the league and Devon Junior Cup.

Torrington’s run of 10 wins in Devon Two came to a halt against North Tawton.

Hoping to guarantee second place, Torrington were beaten 10-5 by their third-placed visitors.

It means they can still be caught by North Tawton and Tamar Saracens who both have a game in hand.

Plymouth Argaum secured the Devon Two title with a 41-7 home win against Ilfracombe.

Bude were beaten 53-14 away to Western Counties West promotion chasers Teignmouth.
