NORTH Devon was battered by wind and rain on Sunday as the first storm of Autumn hit the region.
It was a stark contrast to the bright, clear skies of Saturday which saw warm temperatures and sunshine beam down on the county for much of the day.
However, a deep area of low pressure developed in the Atlantic on Sunday bringing a band of rain to the South West.
The wet weather has continued in North Devon with heavy and persistent showers lashing the region at times.
Forecasters at the Met Office predict the weather will remain wet for most of the week, especially on Tuesday and Thursday.
Paul Gundersen, chief forecaster at the Exeter-based agency, said: "Looking ahead into next week, the changeable and cool weather looks set to continue with further rain or showers together with some sunny spells.”
