Carol Anne Trolls finally showed what they are made of with their first win of the season in the North Devon Netball League.

They have struggled with injuries and illness but last night saw the return of shooters Annette Huxtable and Sue Wheaton.

The difference was immediately noticeable as Trolls scored 48 goals to beat Pat Williams Girls by 24 in Division One.

Even when Huxtable and Wheaton could not find the target, Trolls defended well up the court and player of the match Beth Miles often turned over possession.

Pat Williams were a little shell-shocked initially as Trolls stormed ahead, but after the first break they kept up with the pace for the next 10 goals.

That continued at the beginning of each of the subsequent quarters, but they could not quite maintain the level throughout despite the superb efforts of Jodie Wrey.

New recruit Claire Feehan led Blue Oasis to a 37-25 victory against Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks.

Woolacombe were a player short but played their part in a competitive game, with only one goal separating the teams after the first half.

In the third quarter, Blue Oasis passed the ball accurately and forced errors on which they capitalised to win the period 14-0.

Woolacombe won the final quarter 9-6 but the damage had been done.

Titans teams faced each other in Division Two, with Pluto taking the points against Voyager.

Great movement and shooting by Georgia Morris and Stacey Prosser gave Voyager hope but Pluto's Emily Risden was strong in attack and Heloise Johnson was on top form in the circle.

Pluto pulled clear as the match went on and eventually won 44-24.

Bude Stars maintained their unbeaten record with Rebecca Cuthbertson their most influential player in a win over Instant Images Embroidery.

Captain Penny Collis did her job to lead Venners Bakery Anacondas to victory against Reeds Silverside.

Georgeham Rocks were already a player short against Carol Anne Quartz in Division Three when an injury early on left them with only five.

Quartz capitalised but Georgeham made them work for a 48-16 win that lifted them to third place behind Chivenor Netters and Coodes Cougars who both had convincing wins.

North Devon Homes Stars edged past Carol Anne Opals 33-32 to move into second place in Division Four.

Opals have a game in hand and could retake the position if they finish the first half of the season with a victory.

Gater Girls and Venners Bakery Dodging Donuts also crept up the table by defeating Carol Anne Jets and Amethysts respectively.
