The North Devon Journal Business Awards were launched this morning before an audience of the area's leading businesses at the Apprentice Showcase at the Barnstaple Hotel.

Editor Lisa Templeton revealed the nine awards categories which will recognise best digital business, young entrepreneur, apprentice of the year, business champion, best business in the community, excellence in customer service, best new business, best retail/leisure business and best small/medium business.

"North Devon has continued to demonstrate its resilience as the UK emerges from recession," said Lisa.

"Since we launched the North DevonJournal Business Awards in 2011, the innovation and dedication of our finalists and winners have never failed to amaze and inspire and we are sure that 2014 will be no different.
