TWENTY-FOUR members of North Devon Display Gymnastics Club returned from their last competition of 2012 with 16 medals.

As well as winning eight golds, one silver and seven bronzes, they also had eight fourth-place finishes in the event at Fromeside Gymnastics Club in Bristol.

Caitlin Bradbury, who gained the highest score on vault and floor, Phailin Ferracin and Kylie Piper won their age groups, while Alison Mower was third.

Since the club's gymnasts began competing in October, they have won 121 medals. Michelle Gordon, the lead coach, said: "This reflects all the hard work everyone has put in."

Jordan Ley, a gymnast and coach with North Devon Display, won the Devon Children and Young People Volunteer Award, run by the Devon Community Foundation.

"We feel the club is going from strength to strength," said Gordon.
