NICK WILSON was Bideford Reds' top performer in the final time-trial event of the year.
The 15-year-old won all three races in which he competed at the Dart-Totnes Autumn Head.
His successes included an unexpected victory in the junior 15 singles sculls.
Against strong opposition from both Bideford Blues and Plymouth, Nick completed the 3,300-metre course on the River Dart at Totnes in 13mins 11secs, winning by an impressive 24 seconds.
Nick linked up with team-mate Eden Brittle to clock 13mins 52secs and squeeze home by just a second ahead of Plymouth in the third division of the double sculls.
And, with Dan Crowther, Matt Harris and cox Beth Gayson, Nick and Eden were also winners of the junior 15 quad race.
The boys finished in 11mins 27secs to place 13th overall in the 72-strong first division field.
The Reds girls were also to the forefront with an impressive win for the junior 15 quad against opposition from the Blues and Castledore (Fowey).
Abby Jones, Libbie Willis, Jess Cox and Beth Gayson, with cox Abbie Dunn, recorded 12mins 34secs in the second division – more than a minute ahead of their nearest challengers.
The Reds' Ali Peake, Dave Byrnes, Dave Powe and David Bates, plus cox Keeley Mills, won the second division of the masters D category (average age 50) in 11mins 30secs. That was 18 seconds ahead of their nearest rivals and gave them third out of 61 overall.
