Nick Milton is set to make his first appearance of the season for Bideford tomorrow.
The defender could return from injury for the home match against Plymouth Argyle in the Devon St Luke's Cup (7.45pm).
Manager Sean Joyce has promised changes to the line-up after a poor second half saw Bideford crash out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 defeat at Yate Town on Saturday.
Milton, who can play at right-back or in central defence, impressed in the friendlies but missed the start of the season after suffering a broken jaw.
The former Torquay United trainee returned to action in the South West Peninsula League with Stoke Gabriel last week.
"I though he was tremendous in pre-season," said Joyce.
Midfielder Matt Bye is also ready to return after serving a three-match suspension.
Plymouth Argyle, the holders, are expected to bring a young team to the Sports Ground for the second-round tie.
"They won it last year with a development squad so it will be a tough one," said Joyce.
"I watched them the other week and they played quite a strong team down at Torquay in a reserve game."
The two sides met during pre-season when Bideford won 2-0 at the Sports Ground with goals from Owen Howe and Saul Halpin.
