Motorist receives six points for driving at 91mph on the A361

A MOTORIST has pleaded guilty to driving at more than 90 mph on a North Devon road.

Mahmudur Rahman, 21, of Riddell Avenue, Barnstaple, was driving at a recorded speed of 91mph on the A361 on September 10. The speed limit is 60mph.

He claimed he had been overtaking the vehicle in front which then began to speed up. This meant he also had to increase his speed to complete the overtake.

He received six points on his licence and was ordered to pay a total fine of £145.
