ULTRAVOX singer Midge Ure returns to the Plough Arts Centre this Autumn (Wednesday, September 25). The opportunity to hear an artist who has received Ivor Novello and Grammy awards, plus a flotilla of gold and platinum records, perform in an intimate setting is a rare one.
Other names include the original punk poet John Cooper Clarke who heads to the venue for a night of surreal comedy (Wednesday, September 18); comedian Henning Wehn who cleverly puts the spotlight, not only on our stereotypes of Germans, but on their commonly held beliefs about ourselves (Saturday, October 12); comedian Jeremy Hardy who is known for contributing to BBC2's Grumpy Old Men and QI (Sunday, December 1); and poet Simon Armitage who will drop into the venue while walking from Minehead along the north coast of the South West Coast Path to Land's End (Tuesday, September 3).
