An accident between junctions 26 to Wellington and 25 to Taunton on the M5 caused major traffic delays yesterday.
A car and caravan overturned on the motorway at around 2pm causing delays of up to 60 minutes.
Two northbound lanes were closed and the Highways Agency expected traffic jams to continue up until around 3.45pm.
Group commander at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, Andy Newland, kept the public informed of the incident via Twitter.
He said: "In attendance M5 North J26/25 caravan and car overturned no one hurt expect delays for recovery 2 lanes affected @HAtraffic_swest dealing"
Both lanes have now reopened.
