Marc Bettiss double gives Torridgeside win over Appledore

Marc Bettiss stepped off the bench to score twice and give Torridgeside a 2-0 win over Appledore in the North Devon League last night.

The champions moved up to second in the Premier Division with their fourth straight win.

Bettiss, still seeking match fitness after a knee injury, has hit five goals is two games.

Shebbear United battled for a 2-0 victory at Shamwickshire Rovers with two goals from Shaun Vanstone.

He opened the scoring after good work from Joe Andrew and Shaun Sluggett, then volley the second at a corner with ten minutes to go.

Braunton remain top of the table after easing to a 6-0 win in the derby with Georgeham and Croyde.

Mark Gilfillan (two), Simon Townsend (two) and Sam Box put them 5-0 up by half time and Dave Mason, the substitute, rounded things off.

North Molton went top of the Senior Division, beating South Molton 6-1 as  Darryll Reed scored twice and missed a penalty.

Dan Chalk (two), Josh Dekker and Jason Parish completed the win and Josh Hicks replied for the Images.

Adam Pugsley, Scott Pugsley and Sam Aston got the goals as Equalizers beat Sporting Barum to go top of Intermediate One. Richard Nott and Ryan Elston replied for Sporting.
