A kayaker was rescued yesterday afternoon from the Torridge Estuary after his kayak started to fill with water.
The crew of a boat, who was passing the kayak between the Bideford Bar and Crow Point, called the coastguard at 3pm having realised the kayaker was in trouble.
Appledore RNLI inshore lifeboat was then launched by the coastguard.
The RNLI crew brought the man back with his kayak to the RNLI boathouse in Appledore.
The man has been confirmed as safe and well and not needing any medical attention.
The incident has been left in the hands of Westward Ho! Coastguard.
