LYNMOUTH residents are preparing to celebrate the official opening of the village’s new Pavilion on Thursday.
The £1.2 million project has seen the replacement of the old 1930s Pavilion, and includes new educational and exhibition spaces.
Andrea Davis, who helped secure funding for the project as chair of Exmoor National Park Authority, said she hoped the area would benefit from the new building.
She said: “The funding we received from Devon County Council’s ‘Invest in Devon’ scheme has enabled this amazing state of the art attraction to come about which will benefit tourism and businesses in Lynton and Lynmouth and the wider Exmoor area for years to come.”
Amongst the facilities housed in the new Pavilion is the state of the art National Park Centre.
The centre has been designed to have a mix of high tech and more traditional exhibits with everything from a large touch screen table and iPads to the traditional seaside photo board.
The building’s will also house a new café, due to be run by local business owners.
