LUCY moved to a Barnstaple housing estate seven years ago following a marriage break up and a serious illness that led to a brain operation.
"Unfortunately, because I was unable to work I lost my income and found myself having to go into social housing," she said. "Firstly we had another property and then this one."
Since then she has set about putting a quirky, fun and interesting stamp on the home she shares with son, 18, and daughter, 22.
"It is very important to me to have things around me that have some beauty. However, there are very few things that I wouldn't get rid of. I could happily find lots of new – well probably old – things as replacements. I enjoy it most when I have family to visit and we all sit around the table to share a meal. There is lots of noise and laughter."
