FOR a band that only started performing regularly at the start of the year, Littermouth can be forgiven for their excitement at their first headline slot at the Palladium Club, Bideford, this Saturday –- a few days before Dodgy grace the same stage.
"We've been writing songs for the past few years, playing a few acoustic shows, but only at the start of the year did we begin to gig electrically," lead singer Jon Price explained. "For a while we've been on at Mark Phillips from MJPromo about a support slot but last week, when I rang him to remind him we were still looking for gigs, he offered us our first headline slot at the Palladium."
Based near Welcombe, Jon described Littermouth as a "mature band playing alternative art rock" and has been blown away by the amount of support they have already encountered, something he hopes continues to grow. "We're hoping for another good turn out," Jon said, going on to explain that the band may be supplying a minibus, travelling from Welcombe to Bideford. Details can be found on the band's Facebook page: www. facebook.com/littermouth.
Littermouth is at the Palladium Club, Bideford on Saturday, May 17, 7.30pm. Tickets: £3 on the door.
