Liberal A edge ahead in Barnstaple Snooker League

LIBERAL A took advantage of a defeat for Misfits to go top of the Barnstaple League.

A 3-2 win over Let's Go Mental saw Liberal draw level on 39 points with Misfits, who lost 3-2 to Jackpots, but go ahead of them on wins.

Tom Wells secured Liberal's victory in the deciding frame after Let's Go had come from behind twice to make it 2-2.

Sheridan Tetley (40 break) and John Selby (28) won frames for Liberal.

Adam Halling and Dean Whitehead were the Let's Go winners.

Jackpots took the honours against Misfits as Peter Saxby and captain Chris Brown won the last two frames.

Dave Brayley (22) won the opening frame for Misfits and George Elston levelled before John White put Misfits 2-1 up.

Danny Bain, with a break of 20, won the deciding frame for South Molton B against Fort Chiefs.

Lewis Hutter and Nigel Collins had put South Molton 1-0 and 2-1 up. Phil Richard (25) and James Middlemass (30) replied for Chiefs.

South Molton A raced into joint third place with a 4-1 win at bottom team England Seven.

Bob Lambell, Jim Benn and Ivor Cooper won the first three frames for South Molton.

Frank Jefferies pulled one back for England but Bernie Warr won the final frame.

Legion Cues pulled further away from England Seven despite losing 3-2 away to Spurs.

Neil Payne, Kevin Blight and Roy Roberts won the opening three frames for Spurs before Steve Rowe (37) and Matt Ovey hit back.

Peter Wooldridge won the decider for Magnets at Worst Team Ever, who came from two frames down to level through Steve Hawes and Andy Jenkins.

Garth Whitcomb (22) and Dave Bristow had put Magnets 2-0 up.
