A LATE converted try saw Bideford under-16s draw 10-10 with Barnstaple on Sunday.
Barum scored two first-half tries but failed to close out the game.
A well-worked move involving Bideford's Reece Pearn and Josh Lindo was finished by Micheal Smith and Billy Cockwill converted to secure the draw.
Bideford started well in the evenly-contested match but Barnstaple made more of their possession in the first half.
Will Harrison opened the scoring with a try and, after Bideford had kicked a penalty, Brad Chapple crossed to give the leaders a 10-3 lead at half time.
Both sides pressed hard in the second half and, with five minutes to go, Bideford finally broke through Barum's scramble defence.
Sam Symons tackled well for Bideford and Fraser Priest impressed in the back row.
Barnstaple under-15s hit back from conceding an early try to beat Okehampton 42-7.
Billy Mitchell burst through from some great ruck work to set Barum on the way and they led 20-7 at half time after tries from Josh Samat, Ed May and Noah Stevens.
In the second half, May showed great speed and skill to run 50 metres and score under the posts. Tom Squire converted.
Mitchell seized on a loose ball to score his second try and the last two scores, by James Bellew and Troy Willis, came through good work by the backs.

Barnstaple under-12s picked up the pace in the second half to win 35-0 away to Minehead.
Alex Rowe and Jamie McLagan both crossed twice but the try of the day came from Lui Golden-Kemp who was given the chance of a run from a scrum move and threw a dummy pass.
Tom Chapman crossed four times as Barnstaple under-11s beat Minehead 11 tries to nil.
Kieran Osborne (two), Ben Rowell, Grace Eckford, Henry Huxtable, Owen Bound and Patrick Clifton also scored tries.
Scrum half Chris Loat turned in a stellar performance around the fringes of the breakdown. Joseph Algar made his debut for Barnstaple in the second half.
With only 10 players available to take on Minehead's 20, Barnstaple under-10s played two games and won 7-0 and 11-0. Joe Hill (six), Zac Wheaton (four), Alex Hookway (two), Thomas Thorne (two), Toby Clarke, Brendon Passingham, Haydn Gosling and Sam Taylor all scored tries.
Sam and Haydn won the man of the match honours. William Moore and Kyle Passingham put in excellent efforts.
