LA Tragna Dance Academy is preparing for its debut show, The First Step which will be at The Plough on Sunday.
It will give its young members the chance to showcase everything they have achieved since the dance academy was formed last year.
Thirty-five young people, aged from 7 to 18, have been perfecting their dancing, singing and acting skills to provide the audience with a variety show packed full of diverse and entertaining performances including well known songs from popular musicals and up-to-date hits.
Its principal, Melanie La Tragna, said: "It is a chance to show what we have achieved so far in the first year; that's why it is called The First Step. Hopefully, the audience will enjoy the diverse range of subjects on offer.
"My assistant Lauren Tithecott has been an enormous help, as have the student teachers."
The show features ballet, tap, contemporary, commercial, street and modern dance as well as drama and song – which are all offered, and more, by the dance academy at its Barnstaple base Floor One gym in Gammon Walk.
Melanie was, for many years, involved with the Barnstaple performing arts school Startrain and was key in staging their many successful shows.
The dance school gives young people the chance to learn stage make up, too, and there are plans in the pipeline to offer baby ballet classes.
Certain grades in ballet, tap and modern are now accredited with credits for college and UCAS points.
The First Step is at The Plough Arts Centre, Torrington on Sunday, March 3, 7pm. Tickets: Tickets: £6.50 (adults), £5.50 (child). Box office: 01805 624624.
