AN Instow shop has been crowned the best retailer in the South West in the Farm Shop & Deli Awards.

Independent retailer Johns of Instow was announced as winning local shop of the year in January and has since gone on to be named one of nine regional champions as well.

The shop was chosen by a panel of experts for showing the highest levels of service, product knowledge, initiative, innovation and community involvement.

Anthony Johns, owner of Johns, said: “Following on from the announcement of winning ‘Local Shop of the Year’ across the UK in January we are now absolutely delighted to learn that we have also been crowned ‘South West Regional Champion 2014’.

“Thank you to everyone who has voted for us and we are extremely proud to be able to deliver our quality produce in our café, delis, butchery & grocery stores to the local community and visitors in the South West of England.”

The nine regional winners will now go on to the final to try and claim the title of ‘Farm Shop & Deli Awards Retailer of the Year’.
